GEROSA GROUP

Founded by Luigi and Giuseppe Gerosa, Cellografica Gerosa was established in Inverigo (Como) in 1935. Over the years, the company grew, establishing and purchasing other companies in Italy and abroad, until it became a group with an international organization.
With five production facilities in Europe, four sales subsidiaries, 650 employees, over 75 years of operating experience and a turnover of more than 160 million euro, the Gerosa Group is today the most reliable partner for operators in the industry. Its strong point lies in the quality of its service, based on flexibility, speed and fast response to Customer requirements, and on maximum guarantee of production means, controls and standards.

.

  • The Group is able to provide the very best the market has to offer, both in terms of research and development, and as regards photographic preparation, cylinder laser engraving, printing and lamination machines, with a careful eye on environment protection.

.

.

The evolution Initially established as a company specialized in flexible packaging printing, it has grown and increased its production starting with the installation, in 1949, of a single-colour rotogravure machine, right up to decentralization at European level.

.

Today, in the flexible packaging converting sector, the company has five production facilities in Italy (Cellografica Gerosa SpA and Flexocit), Spain (since 1993 Cellografica Gerosa SA, since 2004 Rieusset) and Romania (since 2007 Artema Plast), qualified both in terms of geographic area and as regards areas of production excellence.

.

In particular, Cellografica Gerosa SpA specializes in multi-layer lamination and cold-seal application, Cellografica Gerosa SA in paper-based lamination, hot melt and wax, Rieusset in reel-fed, cut&stack, die-cut and sleeve labels and, finally, Flexocit and Artema Plast in flexographic printing.

.

  • Thanks to printing machine standardization, to the self-production of cylinders and to a “shuttle” system, the Group is able to optimize production capacity and schedules to the full benefit of quality and continuity of service to Customers. The company also has four sales subsidiaries in Europe, providing crucial cultural and service backing to end-users.

.

  • During its process of evolution and growth, the Gerosa Group has invested heavily in Research & Development, directing company resources towards the use of new technologies able to upgrade production and, at the same time, reduce the carbon emissions into the atmosphere attributable to the converting process.

.

  • Thanks to careful studies and heavy investments made, in 2009, the company’s Green Soul System philosophy saw the light, a concrete and environment-friendly answer to the Group’s efficiency requirements. Within the production plants, technologies are implemented able to soften environmental impact by reducing the consumption of electricity; water and air treatment systems have been set up, programmes have been adopted for recycling printing solvents and a real cogeneration system has been built.

.

  • The Gerosa Group has also created the Paperless Laboratory Project, an innovative system whereby paper is completely eliminated and a punctual service is provided, both in-house and to Customers and Suppliers.

.

Thanks to this constant drive towards improvement, the Group companies are now able to boast numerous certifications: UNI EN ISO 9001:2008, UNI EN ISO 14001:2004, UNI EN ISO 22000:2005 and BRC/IoP issue4.
