Universal Pack is a global leader in the design and manufacture of vertical VFFS machines and complete lines for single-dose packaging in sachets and stick-packs. Since 1965, it has been creating highly customized systems for the food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic and chemical industries, ensuring precision, reliability and maximum efficiency for every type of product. interpack 2026 will be an opportunity to showcase Universal Pack’s latest innovations: solutions designed to combine sustainability, high performance and total process safety.
Sustainable packaging: a forward-looking choice
Sustainability is a cornerstone of Universal Pack’s strategy. The machines are engineered to run compostable, recyclable and recycled laminates, supported by advanced analyses such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The goal: minimizing environmental impact while maintaining high standards, regulatory compliance and outstanding performance. Universal Pack collaborates with major international film manufacturers, global corporations and university research centers to develop next-generation sustainable materials. Each laminate is rigorously tested on the company’s systems to ensure quality, safety and optimized packaging in terms of consumption and yield.
Advanced solutions for the toughest single-dose packaging challenges
In Düsseldorf, Universal Pack will showcase technologies engineered to tackle the most critical demands of single-dose packaging. The new stick-pack line, featuring integrated robotic pick & place, upgraded stick conveying & counting and a high-performance cartoning and closing workflow, is built for producers running free-flowing and non-free-flowing powders as well as complex sauces and liquids. It combines dual dosing to run two recipes in parallel (to be dosed into the same stick-pack as well), high format flexibility (multiple carton formats and 10–100-count configurations) and high output (up to 60 boxes/min, depending on format). Process control is ensured through 100% in-line weight checking with automatic reject and feedback, exportable production data and end-to-end batch traceability, delivering consistent efficiency in a compact, reliable footprint.
Alongside it, the Theta four-side-seal sachet machine sets the benchmark for those who need top speed without compromising quality. Proven up to 150 cycles/min, its innovative horizontal sealing system reliably handles thicker films and sustainable laminates (including recyclable and compostable structures) by extending sealing time while keeping lower temperatures in the sealing area. With dedicated cooling solutions, Theta is ideal for heat-sensitive food ingredients and formulations, combining performance with ergonomic access and fast modular changeovers.
Completing the display is Alfa Flexi, the most versatile stick-pack solution in the range and the best choice for contract packers and companies with highly diversified, multi-product production. Fast stick-width adjustments and instant powder-to-liquid changeovers minimize downtime, while true multi-format capability and tool-free changeovers keep short runs and frequent SKU switches efficient. All technologies are designed for sustainable materials, cross-contamination prevention, end-to-end traceability and consistent peak-speed performance. Universal Lab, the company’s in-house laboratory, analyzes materials and products to ensure perfect integration with packaging systems. This scientific approach makes it possible to optimize machine design and deliver tailor-made solutions built around the specific needs of processes and products.
