ACMA at interpack 2026

With the new CWB, ACMA reinforces its commitment to innovation and sustainability in confectionery packaging, delivering a wrapping solution designed not only to meet today’s operational requirements but to anticipate the regulatory and environmental challenges shaping the future of the industry.
ACMA, a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced automation and packaging solutions for the consumer goods industry, further strengthens its expertise in the confectionery sector with the launch of CWB – a new wrapping solution specifically developed for bar applications. With decades of experience in chocolate and confectionery packaging technologies, ACMA combines mechanical excellence, process knowledge and application insight to support global brands in navigating evolving production and regulatory scenarios. CWB represents a strategic step forward, enabling ACMA to address a significant share of the wrapped bar segment with a solution that balances performance, flexibility and sustainability.

High levels of precision and productivity
Designed to reach speeds of up to 850 products per minute, CWB operates in the high-speed range while ensuring high levels of productivity, precise product handling and consistent wrapping quality. The platform has been engineered to guarantee stable performance even at high throughput, safeguarding both product integrity and pack appearance.

Innovative material processing
Beyond performance, the real innovation lies in material processing. The packaging industry is progressively shifting away from traditional multi-material laminates – such as paper/aluminium combinations – toward monomaterial structures in order to comply with the requirements introduced by the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). While monomaterials enable improved recyclability, they present specific technical challenges. One of the most critical is the so-called “memory effect”: when folded, monomaterial films tend to reopen, potentially compromising pack integrity. CWB addresses this challenge through a patented sealing system designed to work effectively with monomaterial films. The technology ensures secure sealing without affecting the product inside, preventing the pack from reopening after folding. At the same time, the wrapping structure achieved with CWB provides enhanced product protection compared to traditional solutions, contributing to improved barrier performance and overall pack stability. Material versatility is another key differentiating factor. In addition to processing monomaterials, CWB can handle conventional laminated and plastic-based materials, offering manufacturers a smooth transition path as they adapt to new regulatory frameworks. The machine is capable of managing different material grammages, allowing ACMA to cover a substantial portion of the market with a single, flexible platform. While larger chocolate tablets are already largely compliant – typically packaged in monomaterial flowpack or aluminium monomaterial structures combined with monomaterial paper – the smaller bar segment still faces a more complex transition. It is precisely in this niche that CWB positions itself as a forward-looking solution, supporting producers in migrating from multi-material formats to recyclable monomaterial alternatives without sacrificing performance or efficiency.
